Juan Martin del Potro admits he is still some way away from his best after winning his first tournament since 2009.

The 2009 US Open champion's win over Janko Tipsarevic at the Delray Beach Open on Sunday marked his return to fitness after missing most of 2010 with a wrist injury.

But despite the victory, del Potro, who moved back into the top 100 after dropping as low as 485 last month, insists he is in no rush to push on and return to the top ten.

"I have played a lot of matches in three weeks, and I need time," del Potro said. "I'm not in a hurry. I am feeling calm about my progress, but I need maybe 20 more matches before I can really compete with top ten players.

"Three months ago, I was worrying about just playing a tournament and now I have won one. But I'm glad. It feels good."
